The Anglo-Dutch Rivalry over Trade in Persia during the Seventeenth Century

This paper examines the Anglo-Dutch rivalry over trade in Persia during seventeenth century, following that had existed sixteenth century. The Portuguese, who dominated region’s political, military, and commercial capabilities, began to lose their influence after expulsion from Hormuz 1622, then faded Muscat 1650. An important factor directly related changes occurred affected nature of global Asian is what known as port or “Country Trade.”The article also focuses on volume types goods were transported exchanged region by European companies, conflict competition took place between them monopolize materials east, foremost which are spices silk, addition many other goods, some urgently needed markets where they could exchange products, such wool, British produced large quantities exceeded needs.
